Vintage Fall Mosaic

Reading Room Update

I thought I would share my reading room with you before the  "redecorating" bug hits again and I change this room into something else!  I had been playing around with our reading room this past summer and think I have it the way I like it.  My husband won't believe that!  I am always asking him to move furniture.  This room is directly off the kitchen and off the center hall that runs the length of our home.  My grandmother's dining room table and buffet are treasured pieces in this room.  I am using my grandma's table as a reading table of sorts.  What do you think?  I also added two comfy recliners for reading a good book on a dreary day.  Between the chairs is a turtle table purchased for a song at an antique store in Florida.  I love this room.  I have found it to be a perfect spot for my morning Bible study.  My husband does his Bible study in this room as well. Fabulous Chocolate Cake

Do you love a rich, moist chocolate cake?  What about one topped with a fudge like frosting?  If you answered "yes" to those questions, then this cake is for you.  I have been making this cake for 30 years, but fell in love with it's chocolaty decadence while I was a student at Mississippi State University.  My college boyfriend's mother made this cake for me and I have been crazy about it ever since.  When I got married, a sorority friend gave me The Pick of the Crop cookbook.  I was thrilled to find the recipe in the cookbook.  It is my go to dessert for just about any occasion.
