Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and we are celebrating a day early with true Irish fare. We love any excuse to have a family get together and since we have Irish in our blood, St. Patrick's Day is a fitting celebration. To get you in the Irish mood, here are a few vintage St. Patrick's Day cards. You know how I love vintage cards!
She is a pretty lass!Who could resist this wee lad?
My dream vacation would be a trip to Ireland. I imagine that if I visited a local pub for some good Irish food, I would find these gents!
What a sweet little lass!
My favorite movie at anytime of the year, but especially at St. Patrick's Day, is The Quiet Man. If you have not had the pleasure of seeing this movie, peruse your tv guide and you will probably find it on tomorrow. It is a "must see" movie for St. Patrick's Day. Grab a cup of tea, a scone or two, and settle in for a terrific movie.
The Irish are known for beautiful blessings. This is one of my favorites...
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rain fall safe upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
I hope the Quiet Man is on tomorrow! Happy St Patrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteHave you watched it before? If not, I bet you will love it. Beautiful scenery, Irish brogue, John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara...what more could one want? Have a great day!
